2.     Choose Lubricants Wisely

If you need a vaginal lubricant when trying to conceive, be careful about the type that you use. Experts advise you to use natural oil based lubricants such as peanut oil, canola oil and baby oil. Water based lubricants including KY Jelly, Astroglide and Touch may decrease your chances of conception by inhibiting sperm movement by up to 60 to 100 percent. And by all means, avoid spermicidal products.

3.     Know the Fertile Window

The fertile window is a six-day period before and up to ovulation. By having sex within this fertile period, and especially within the three days prior to ovulation, you greatly increase your chance of getting pregnant. Couples don't need to wait until the expected day of ovulation, but rather to do it within the days leading to ovulation. Keep track of your cycle; ovulation happens around 14 days before the next menstrual flow.
